Spring 2022 newsletter

Welcome to the Spring 2022 edition of our newsletter.

Welcome back

It is lovely to have Rachel back in nursery following her maternity leave. She has settled back in well and is enjoying getting to know all of our new children.

What we have been up to

In nursery we enjoy taking part in lots of festivals from around the World. Recently we celebrated Chinese New Year, exploring different cultures, practising using chopsticks, exploring different foods such as Pomelo and noodles. Some of our older children learnt about Chinese writing and how it is very different to the words and letters we usually see in nursery. We also took part in Valentine's Day themed activities. We talked about people who are special to us and made them some lovely pictures and cards. Please don't forget if there are any special celebrations that your family takes part in please let us know so that we can join in too!

Children's Mental Health Week

We took part in Children's Mental Health Week, we talked about our feelings 'happy' 'sad' 'excited' 'shocked' and shared the hugasaurs book. We tried out some mindfulness yoga and shared Worryasaurs.

Dental health

We love to keep our teeth nice and healthy in nursery. We enjoy healthy snacks, meals and drinks. We talk about food that is healthy and unhealthy, we love to brush the Crocodile's teeth with our giant toothbrush. If your child isn't registered with a dentist, please look in to doing this as soon as possible. We love to role play dentists in nursery and hope this adds to making the children's dental experience a pleasant one.

Animal Yoga

We have been enjoying animal yoga and our wake up shake up sessions daily at nursery. Talking about the effects physical exercise has on our bodies. Did you know 1-4 year old's require atleast 3 hours of physical activity per day (indoor and outdoor).

Share a story

In nursery we love to share stories and look at books together, we are very lucky to have the library on site. Have you seen our 'book share basket' it's at our front door, please feel free to bring in a book from home and choose one out of the basket to take home to enjoy.
