Autumn 2021 newsletter

Welcome to the Autumn 2021 edition of our newsletter.

What we have been up to

In nursery we have been taking part in lots of activities themed around all about me. Some of the activities include family portraits, photo books and mirror play, learning about what makes us the same and different from each other. In nursery we enjoy taking part in festivals from around the world, we recently took part in the festival of the Autumn Moon. We enjoyed sensory noodle play, tasting sessions and enjoyed making moon cakes. If there are any special celebrations that your family takes part in please let us know so that we can join in too!

October Half Term

October Half term week commencing Monday 25th October 2021. Nursery closed to term time only children - if you would like to book your child onto our holiday club please ask Irene or Leanne for details.

Famly online learning journeys

From next week all parents should have access to their child’s online learning journey through Famly. On Famly you will see updates on your child in nursery, find out what we have been up to and be able to share development ‘Wows’ with your child’s keyworker which will be included in your child’s individual learning journey. Please bear with us as we make the transition across!

Halloween

Join us on - 25/10/21 to 29/10/21 for a fun packed week of Halloween themed activities. Come along to nursery dressed in your favourite costumes.

Sponsored Walk

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 6th Birthday celebrations and sponsored walk. The money raised will be used towards enhancing our outdoor area.

Children in Need

Come along to nursery dressed in your pj's or spots on Friday 12th November 2021 and help us raise lot's of pennies for Children in Need. We will be having a cake sale too.

Saturday 13th November from 9.30am, if you would like to meet your child’s keyworker or discuss your child’s development. Please ask Irene or Leanne for an appointment.

Christmas Cards

If you would like to order any of the Xmas cards in your child’s own unique design please return your order by 15th October 2021.

Christmas Jumper Day

Join us on Friday 10th Dec 2021 wear your Christmas jumper to nursery in aid of 'Save the Children'.

Saturday 11th December 2021 9.30am-11am at Ace Playce, includes juice and biscuits. All welcome please see Irene or Leanne to purchase your ticket £1 each, siblings welcome please pay ordinary entrance fee on the door.

Christmas Sing Songs

Our Christmas sing songs will be over two days this year, please watch out for your invites. You will be invited to one session per family.

Staff training

In nursery we use Makaton to support spoken language, this is particularly useful for non-verbal children and helps to support their communication. Our staff team will take part in refresher Makaton training next week.

Are you claiming your free funded hours

We offer funded spaces for eligible 2, 3 and 4 years, you may be entitled for up to 30 hours free childcare per week. Please visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk for more information or ask Irene or Leanne.

Appropriate named clothing

Please ensure your child brings weather appropriate clothing to nursery( including hats, gloves, sun cream, coats, wellies etc). If your child is potty training please provide them with plenty of changes of clothes to see them through the nursery day. If you borrow nursery clothing please return it ASAP as we sometimes run short. Often our children come into nursery wearing similar or the same clothing, please can we ask for your support by labelling your child’s clothing to avoid them going missing or getting mixed up, thank you.

Staff competition

Well done to all of our girls that took part in our health and well-being activity competition. All entries were fabulous, our winner was Chelsea with her fantastic activity gym. Our children have enjoyed exploring the activity gym.

A few reminders

  • Please let us know if your contact details change.

  • If your child has been given medication at home, please inform your child's key person.

  • When collecting or dropping children off, could we please remind parents to kindly wait in the entrance. This minimises disruption in the main room.

  • Please refrain from using your mobile phone whilst in our setting.

  • Please could you refrain from sending nuts in to nursery. As one of our children has a nut allergy. Thank You.

  • We are closed all bank holidays.
