Spring 2021 newsletter

Welcome to the Spring 2021 edition of our newsletter.

Off to a flying start!

So far this term we have enjoyed sharing some of our favourite stories and rhymes, such as Goldilocks and the three bears / Three little pigs / Little peter rabbit / Gruffalo plus much more. The children have enjoyed many activities, role play, crafts, sensory tray setups themed around the stories and rhymes we have shared.

Children's Mental Health Week

We took part in Children's Mental Health Week, we made rainbow cards and spoke about our best qualities. We talked about our feelings 'happy' 'sad' 'excited' 'shocked'. We tried out some mindful breathing with Teddy, Rachel said we were all very good at copying her.

Half Term Holiday Clubs

Are you looking for extra care or something for your kiddies to do in the School holidays? Why not book onto one of our holiday clubs for ages 3 - 7 years old, they run throughout all School holidays. Book today to avoid disappointment spaces are limited and normally go fast. Contact Irene or Leanne for further details.

4 Year Service

Last month we celebrated Natasha's 4 year service with Little Cygnets. Natasha is a valued member of our team, thank you for all your hard work and dedication over the years Natasha.

Welcome Back!

This month we look forward to welcoming Chloe back following her maternity leave and Shannon will be leaving us for a short while to go on maternity leave.

Funded Nursery Places!

Have you got your 30 hour code ready for April? Apply now to avoid losing out. follow the link: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk For those parents that already access their 30 hours, please remember to reconfirm your code every three months. We also offer two-year-old funded spaces, if you would like further information please ask Irene or Leanne.

What's Happening This Month!

This month we are looking forward to celebrating Chinese New Year, Shrove Tuesday, Valentines Day and National Storytelling Week.

Coronavirus

We would like to ask for your support and insist that children that are displaying symptoms of Covid 19 are not brought into nursery. If your child is displaying any of the symptoms they must remain at home and access the coronavirus test, if your child has a temperature, continuous cough or is experiencing a change in or loss of taste or smell they must stay at home. If you are concerned about the health of your child please contact 111 for advice and keep us informed.

Non Funded Week

Week commencing Monday 12th July 2021 is our non funded week, children that attend on a government funded space term time only will not attend nursery this week. We do have some availability for children to attend this week on a paid basis, please speak to Irene or Leanne if you are interested.

World Book Day!

Come to nursery dressed in your favourite costume or as your favourite character on Thursday 4th March and join in the fun we are celebrating World Book Day 2021!

Easter Competition

To enter our Easter competition please help your child make / decorate an Easter bonnet. All entries to be in by Friday 26th March 2021. We will be closed on Good Friday 2nd April and reopen on Tuesday 6th April 2021 to enjoy our Easter break.

Labelling Belongings!

Please can you ensure that all your child's belongings are clearly labeled, many children come into nursery wearing the same or very similar coats, bags etc. Many thanks for your continued support.

A few reminders

  • Please let us know if your contact details change.

  • If your child has been given medication at home, please inform your child's key person.

  • When collecting or dropping children off, could we please remind parents to kindly wait in the entrance. This minimises disruption in the main room.

  • Please refrain from using your mobile phone whilst in our setting.

  • Please could you refrain from sending nuts in to nursery. As one of our children has a nut allergy. Thank You.

  • We are closed all bank holidays.
